The Jones High School product out of Orlando spurned C. in favor of USF and in the process became the highest rated recruit in the 2018 class so far.
According to 247Sports composite scores, Kirby’s .8730 rating is the best the Bulls have snagged since wide receiver Darnell Salomon’s .9005 rating when he committed in 2016.
He is the highest rated defenisve lineman since Derrick Calloway (.8746) signed in 2013.
Kirby was previously committed to Florida State but decommited on December 11 after head coach Willie Taggart came onboard.
Kirby will enroll at USF in January and it will give him a chance to contribute next season as the Bulls will have to replace three fantastic starters along the defensive line. At 6’3”, 245 lbs., he could bulk up and move inside if the coaching staff things he could be an asset.
