USF Football Player Profile: #97 DE Nicolas Munera

Career profile of USF defensive end Nicolas Munera.

Cincinnati v South Florida

#97 DE Nicolas Munera - Junior, 6’5”, 247 lbs.

That’s Pronounced... Moo-ner-ah? Mu-ner-ah? Nick-o-las? Or Nee-co-las? No idea here. Also the spelling of his first name is in some dispute. His Twitter page spells it without an H, but USF spells his name “Nicholas.”

2016 Stats: Munera finally appeared in his first game as a Bull against C. He may have played some more snaps, but we found him lined up at defensive tackle on the last play of the game, where two pissed-off C. offensive linemen double-teamed him, drove him back about ten yards, and then shoved him after the whistle.

2015 Stats: Did not play.

2014 Stats: Redshirted.

How He Came to USF: Munera was a defensive end and captain at King High School in Tampa, compiling 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He also lettered in basketball and walked onto the USF football team in 2014.

Recruiting Rankings: Munera was not listed by the major recruiting services.

Follow Him On... Nicolas is on Twitter at @nicolasdmm, although he retweets much more than he tweets.
