#40 FB/TE Riley Sheehan - Redshirt junior, 6’3”, 237 lbs.

2017 Stats: Did not see action. He tore his ACL late the season and was held out of spring practice in 2018.

2016 Stats: Sheehan got a look at tight end during the spring. However, he didn’t get into any games during the season. We thought there might have been an opening for him, but Elkanah Dillon and Mitchell Wilcox handled just about every snap at tight end. The only other tight end/H-back type who even got on the field was Adrian Palmore for one game.

2015 Stats: Redshirt season.

How He Came To USF: Riley was a defensive end and offensive lineman at Sarasota's Riverview High School. He originally planned to play football at Jacksonville University, until there was a big financial aid scandal in the football program that resulted in the Pioneer League (which doesn't allow athletic scholarships) handling down sanctions in the summer of 2015. We don't know if that played a role in Riley leaving, or more accurately never joining the team. He wasn't listed on the 2015 roster and didn't play in any of their games. Instead of playing for the Dolphins, Sheehan walked onto the USF program that year.

High School Highlights: In addition to his 1600 SAT and 24 ACT, here is Riley’s highlight reel from Riverview:

Recruiting Rankings: Sheehan was unranked by the major recruiting sites.
