Men’s Basketball

Coming off an unlikely and improbable win over Tulane on Thursday night, the USF men’s basketball team will try to pull off the perfect road trip when they face the Houston Cougars (15-4, 5-2 AAC) tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Led by guard Stephan Jiggetts, the Bulls (8-13, 1-7 AAC) led by as many as 23 against Tulane before barely holding on for the victory. But, a win is a win and the team and fans alike will take them by any means necessary.

Jiggetts scored 23 points while playing all 40 minutes at Tulane and guards Terrence Samuel and Payton Banks recorded their first-career double-doubles.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Women’s Basketball

On the flip side, head coach Jose Fernandez and his squad are coming off one of the worst fourth quarters in recent USF history when they scored just four points to allow Wichita State to come back from eight points down to win 64-56 last Sunday.

The Bulls (15-5, 5-2 AAC) will face Temple (9-10, 1-5 AAC) at noon at the Sun Dome. USF beat the Owls 89-73 on January 10.

Junior guard Kijita Laksa continued her struggles from beyond the arc, missing all eight shots she took Sunday. On a better note, the Latvian has made 42 consecutive free throws. She hasn’t missed since November 25 against Notre Dame.

The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
