The Bulls haven’t been ranked in the AP top 25 since early January. OSU had the fifth-best RPI in college basketball prior to Sunday, which helped USF move up two spots to 27 in RPI rankings on Monday.
ESPN’s Bracketology has USF as a six-seed in the Albany region facing FGCU. They would get South Carolina in the second round if they won. The Bulls wouldn’t face UConn until the Elite Eight.
Laksa named espnW Player of the Week
Junior shooting guard Kitija Laksa was named the espnW Player of the Week today after her career-high 41-point outburst over Ohio State.
ESPN college basketball analyst Angel Gray took notice after the win:
Whoa! @KitLaksa was due for one of these games. Huge win for @USFWBB https://t.co/LX8eB02w8d

The Latvian had been in a terrible shooting slump heading into last Wednesday’s contest versus ECU and gained some confidence heading into the OSU game. Laksa was a woman possessed from the tip, hitting a three just 14 seconds into the contest and never relenting on her way to tying the The American single-game record for points.
USF hosts SMU on Wednesday in their annual Play4Kay game.
