Fifth-seeded USF women’s basketball took care of business today as they dispatched of the 12th-seeded Tulane Green Wave 61-52 in the opening round of the AAC tournament.
Making their first appearance in the opening round of the tournament since the birth of the conference, the Bulls got a star performance from newly named second-team all-conference selection Enna Pehadzic.
The redshirt sophomore poured in 23 points on 9-of-21 shooting and chipped in six rebounds to boot.
Pehadzic was helped out by fellow guard Elisa Pinzan’s most complete game of the season. She filled the stat sheet everywhere, scoring 11 points, and adding a career-high 7 rebounds, career-high 8 assists, and five steals.
Forward Tamara Henshaw had herself a day as well. She scored 15 points and tied her career-high with 15 rebounds.
All-Freshman selection Sydni Harvey has 8 points off the bench.
The Bulls out-rebounded the Green Wave 39-33 and had 13 offensive rebounds. They also had 16 assists on 25 made baskets.
USF will face No. 4 seed Houston tomorrow at noon on ESPN 3.
