On early signing day, USF is adding a transfer defensive end originally from the Bay Area to help a position of need for the Bulls. Jamari Stewart, a former three-star defensive end from Mississippi State, announced his intentions to transfer back to the Tampa Bay Area.

Stewart, a top 40 WDE in the country in the class of 2020, committed to Mike Leach and Mississippi State in February of this past year, but did not see any playing time for the Bulldogs. He announced his intentions to transfer out of Starkville in November, where he and three other teammates decided to leave the program.
As a recruit, he compiled 61 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, eight sacks and three forced fumbles for Centennial High School, where he was an absolute force in a three man front. USF sorely needed effective pass rushing defensive ends, and Stewart can fill that role. If he is immediately eligible, he will have all four years available.
