Week eight was a milestone week for USF, getting their first victory over an FBS team in 728 days when they ran over Temple 34-14. The Bulls rushed for a school record of 421 yards in a game that Jeff Scott needed to keep the faith within the fan base. On the other side, Rod Carey’s seat just got a nth degree warmer as they continue to hunt for consistency at Temple.

Elsewhere in the conference, SMU boat raced past Tulane 55-26 behind Tanner Mordecai’s 427 yard 3 TD performance, he currently is tied for the lead in FBS with 29 touchdown passes this season. In a battle of the underwhelming, C. squeaked past Memphis 24-7. Cincinnati escaped a trap game against Navy 27-20 to keep their undefeated season (and college football playoff hopes) alive. The last game of the day was slated to start at 4 p.m. eastern, but due to weather in the Houston area, resulted in the game starting at 9 p.m. eastern. Houston outlasted ECU 31-24 in overtime to give the Cougars six straight victories.
