Top seeded USF only needed one goal to dispatch of four-seed ECU in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament and will face three-seed Cincinnati in the final on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

The Bulls were in familiar territory pitching a shutout for the sixth time this season - second against the Pirates - en route to their sixth tournament final appearance and fourth in a row.

Fresh off of her American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year Award, Sydney Martinez saved all three shots she faced in her 90’ of work and collected her eighth victory and sixth shutout. The junior hasn’t allowed more than one goal in a game all season and has more shutouts than goals against.

The lone USF goal occurred in the 11’ when a clear attempt in front of the net by an ECU defender ricocheted off another Pirate and into the back of the net.

USF outshot ECU 16-5 (6-3 on-net) with AAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team honoree Sydny Nasello and All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie honoree Chiara Hahn shooting three each.

The Bulls completed their unbeaten regular season at Cincinnati last Sunday and will look to defend their conference tournament championship against the Bearcats less than a week later at home. Cincinnati was able to dispatch of two-seed Memphis 1-0 earlier on Thursday.
