The American had a few nail biting victories to pair with a few blowout wins and losses as they entered the third week of the season. With week four looming, the Bulls are the only team playing a ranked opponent as they travel to take on no. 15 BYU.

Tulsa and Navy are still searching for their first wins of the season, with the latter kicking off conference play against Houston. Most teams are wrapping up their non-conference slate and a few schools are on a bye this week. SMU will look to continue a hot start as they take on TCU for the Iron Skillet. Ironically, Tulane will play host to UAB this week after spending the last two weeks in Birmingham to get out of the path or Hurricane Ida.
