Good morning V5ers! Here are your five links to get you ready for the weekend.
1. Congrats to women's pole vaulter Stephanie Duffy, who qualified for the NCAA Championships after a vault of 13 feet, 1 1/2 inches at the NCAA East Regionals at the University of Indiana. Hurdler David Aristil qualified for the finals at the regionals after he qualified third in the prelims.
2. Tough news about former USF quarterback Matt Grothe, who was cut by the CFL's Toronto Argonauts. A couple former Bulls have found a home in UFL lately, and hopefully he can find a place to land on his feet.
3. Jim Louk has his latest installment of his Letters From Louk series, and once again its a fantastic read. Definitely worth a read this morning.
4. Former USF and current FC Tampa Bay keeper Jeff Attinella has been named NASL Defensive Player of the Week. Jeff took the honor after recording his first professional clean sheet against the Montreal Impact last week. We hope he continues his strong play in his first year of professional soccer.
5. ESPN's Brian Bennett decided to rank the eight Big East teams' helmets, and ranked USF's white lid second behind West Virginia. I've always been a fan of the flying WV helmet (NOTE FROM VOODOO: except when they wear their Ticonderoga #2 all-yellow uniforms), and I think USF could use just a little bit of gold trim somewhere.
