Stampeding Through The Roster: #16 QB Ryan Eppes

16 long, torturous days left until the USF season opener against Notre Dame. Today we meet a walk-on who will try to work his way up the depth chart. (We already met Reshard Cliett a few weeks ago when he was still wearing #37.)

#16 QB Ryan Eppes

Redshirt Sophomore, 6'1" 219 lbs.

Stats In 2010: Ryan participated in the Florida Atlantic game last season, but did not accumulate any stats.

Current Position On Depth Chart: Ryan was not listed on the two-deep at quarterback on the post-spring depth chart.

How He Came To USF: Ryan came to USF from Largo High School. Eppes transferred to Largo his senior year from Countryside High School, after the 45-minute commute became too much of a hassle for him. Eppes had a solid senior year for the Packers, passing for 1313 yards and 11 touchdowns while running for 508 yards and four touchdowns. Eppes accepted a preferred walk-on position, and has been on the roster ever since.

Recruiting Rankings: Eppes was not rated by either Rivals or Scout.

Projected Playing Time In 2011: It will be difficult for Eppes to see the field with B.J. Daniels and Bobby Eveld both ahead of him on the depth chart, and probably Matt Floyd as well. Hopefully there will be a couple of blowouts this season and Ryan can get some playing time.
