15 days. Almost two weeks left until the opener. Today we meet one of the big surprises from fall camp.
#15 WR Victor Marc
Junior, 5'11" 221 lbs.
Stats In 2010: Victor participated in nine games last year after moving to wide receiver. Victor caught one pass for 13 yards.
Current Position On Depth Chart: Marc was listed as the backup to Joel Miller at slot receiver in the post-spring depth chart.
How He Came To USF: Victor played at Hallandale High School near Miami. Marc played quarterback for the Chargers, and had a solid senior year with 854 passing yards and eight touchdowns, along with 478 yards rushing and three TDs.. Marc chose USF over offers from Wisconsin, West Virginia, Kansas State, Clemson, and South Carolina, among others.
Recruiting Rankings: Victor was listed as a three-star recruit by Scout, who ranked him 63rd among running backs in the class of 2009. Rivals also gave him three stars and classified him as the always-mysterious "athlete." He was 55th among athletes in Rivals' rankings.
Projected Playing Time In 2011: Victor has been one of the big surprises this fall after moving around his first two seasons here in Tampa. Both Adam Adkins and Greg Auman have noted about his ability to get open and more importantly hold onto the ball. With the deep receiving corps that USF has this year, Offensive coordinator Todd Fitch said that Marc might move to WR to help out with depth, but I think he will best utilized and earn some significant playing time in the slot this year.
