Women’s Soccer
The Big East portion of the women’s soccer schedule started off a little shaky, after they only managed to score one goal in the first three games. The Bulls managed to turn things around, picking up five wins and a draw in their next six matches. After their pair of wins last weekend at home versus Syracuse and St. John’s, the Bulls are now the No. 2 seed in the American Division of the Big East.
USF now sits at 10-4-2 record on the season and 6-1-2 in conference play, both quite an accomplishment for the Bulls. The ladies are locked into their Big East tournament position and will host a quarterfinal game on Sunday, October 28. Before the Big East tournament begins, though, the Bulls will finish up their regular season schedule on the road versus a strong Marquette side on Saturday night at 8pm.
Men’s Soccer
The Bulls started out leading the pack this season, only to find themselves bringing up the rear with the season winding down. The once-nationally ranked #2 Bulls are now at the bottom of the Big East rankings after drawing three matches and then suffering a loss to Syracuse. Even with a 7-3-4 overall record, the Bulls are only 1-1-3 in Big East play and sit near the bottom of the Red Division table, only ahead of DePaul. Still, that is one more Big East win than the football team has, so congratulations?
Catch the Bulls final home game on Wednesday night at 7pm. They will need your support at Corbett Stadium as they take on division-leading Louisville, ranked #21 nationally. If you can’t make it out, the game will be televised nationally. After facing the Cardinals, USF will finish the regular season on the road against 15th-ranked St. John's and DePaul, who has yet to win a Big East game this season.
