Ken Eriksen and the 23rd ranked USF Softball team picked up a huge non-conference win as they beat the #15 Michigan Wolverines 2-0 at the USF Softball Stadium.

Sophomore LHP Sara Nevins (4-1) had another great outing, throwing a complete game 6-hit shutout for the Bulls, who improved to 11-2 on the year. Nevins struck out 8 while only walking 1, and was able to work out of a bases loaded jam in the first, UM's only real chance on the night.

The Bulls were able to take the lead in the bottom of the 3rd, with Kourtney Salvarola knocking in Ashli Golf with a liner up the middle to give the Bulls a 1-0 lead. The Bulls extended the lead to 2 runs just one inning later. Kenshyra Jackson led off the inning with a triple, and Laura Fountain was able to knock her in two batters later to finish up the scoring.

The Bulls will try to continue their hot start to the season this weekend when they participate in the USF Under Armour Invitational at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater. The Bulls will start off the weekend against Boston College this Saturday at 2:00 PM.
