Today we meet our first incoming freshman on the roster.

#91 DE Eric Lee
Freshman, 6'3", 234 lbs.

Stats In 2011: Lee was in high school last season

Current Spot On Depth Chart: Lee is the backup to Julius Forte at right defensive end on the post spring depth chart.

How did he come to USF: Eric comes to USF via Daphne High School in Daphne, AL, where he was honorable mention All-State his senior year. Lee was credited with 44 tackles and 4.5 sacks last year. Eric chose USF over offers from Mississippi State, Minnesota, Missouri, Kentucky, and others.

Recruiting Rankings: Eric was rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals, Scout, and 247. Scout listed Lee as the 101st best DE prospect in the country while 247 had Eric as the 33rd best Strongside DE in the Class of 2012.

Projected Playing Time In 2012: Lee was one of the big surprises this spring and was rewarded with a spot on the post-spring depth chart. With Anthony Hill out for the year with an ACL tear and Notre Dame transfer Aaron Lynch sitting out (for now at least), Lee has a leg up over fellow signees Guito Ervilius and Daniel Perry as the 4th defensive end on the depth chart.
