USF Fall sports teams are finally entering the Big East portions of the schedules, which means an exciting week of sports ahead of us. Luckily for football fans, the Bulls will be on the road this week versus a non-Big East opponent. Whew.
As for the others, most are headed out of town this weekend to face their Big East opponents; however men's soccer is back at home and ready to turn things around after a disappointing loss this past weekend.
Here's the lineup for the games you can catch this week both home and away.
Women’s Soccer: At Rutgers: Friday, Sept. 21st, 7pm. At Seton Hall: Sunday, Sept. 23rd, 1pm
The Bulls head to New Jersey this week to take on two Big East opponents. With a 5-5-1 record, Denise Schilte-Brown's charges are looking to improve that record after a disappointing tie in their first Big East game. As they learned Sunday, simply shooting the ball won’t win you games; even if you try 20 times.
Volleyball:
Women’s soccer isn’t the only team traveling to New Jersey this weekend; Volleyball will be joining in on their road trip to the Garden State. Last night the Bulls showed some flashes of brilliance in a 3-1 win at home versus FGCU. Collin will have the team preview up tomorrow, and remember he also doubles as the internet's leading authority on USF Volleyball.
Men’s Soccer
The Bulls are coming off of a disappointing road trip to Akron, OH. Last Saturday they had a 2-0 lead over Butler, but the match ended 2-2. That was just the beginning of their rough weekend however, as Sunday they lost to perennial national power (note, not snarky, they're always awesome) #9 Akron 5-0.
They'll need to shake off the shellacking and bounce back at home this weekend while hosting their first Big East opponents.
Football At Ball State, Saturday, Sept. 22nd, 4:30pm
With the biggest game of the season (for fans, anyway) just over a week away, USF needs to step things up when they travel to Indiana this weekend. USF will take on Cardinals hoping to ease the pain Bulls fans felt after last Thursday loss to Rutgers.
Saturday won’t be a walk in the park for USF, as the Cardinals are 2-1 for the season and just upset the Indiana Hoosiers 41-39. A win is survival, a loss will look like this.

Women’s Tennis At Georgia State Invitational, Atlanta, GA
The women’s tennis team will be traveling to Atlanta this weekend to compete in the Georgia State Invitational. The Bulls will have a familiar face on their sideline this season, as former captain Courtney Vernon will be the new assistant coach. She will join head coach Agustin Moreno as the Bulls enter their first competition of the season on Saturday.
Women’s Golf At Golfweek Conference Challenge, Wolcott, CO
Quite a few USF teams are hitting the road this weekend; however the women’s golf team will be making the furthest journey. They are headed to Wolcott, CO to compete in the The Golfweek Conference Challenge. The Bulls are ready to bounce back from last week’s Waverly tournament in West Point, MS; where the Bulls tied for sixth.
