Everyone was a winner on the field or court last night, but first let's look back at USF football's pro day, held on campus yesterday.
- Cornerback Kayvon Webster is likely USF's most draftable prospect. After running a 4.41 at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis last week, he decided that was good enough for him and only participated in some of the drills:

Kayvon also had Drew Rosenhaus sniffing around him yesterday, which you can take however you want to take.

Daniels appeared to be fully healthy after four months of rehab from his broken ankle. Where (or if) he plays professionally isn't clear, but he had his speed and his regular range of skills back and on display.

"Stun" may not be exactly right, because even if Shabazz Napier had played, the Bulls would have had a shot at winning this game. But without Napier, Niels Giffey, and Enosch Wolf, and then without Tyler Olander after he left in the second half with an ankle injury, the Huskies just didn't have enough players to make a game of it. Martino Brock was strong last night with 18 points, tying his single-game high in a USF uniform. He shot 8-for-12 from the field, grabbed six rebounds, and looked better than he has all season. Anthony Collins had 12 assists, while Victor Rudd added 17 points and 11 rebounds.
UConn got 23 points from DeAndre Daniels, but they were done in by Ryan Boatright and Omar Calhoun's miserable shooting. The pair shot a combined 4-for-27 from the field, including 2-for-15 from three-point range.
USF beat Boston College 9-4 to get a split of their two-game midweek series. The Bulls got a lot of help from two missed plays by the BC outfield. With two outs and the bases loaded in the first inning, Levi Borders hit a drive to center field that Tom Bourdon dropped on the run, allowing three runs to score. Then in the second inning, Chris Norton hit a flare to short right field that bounced in front of Travis Ferrick and got away, scoring two more Bulls.
Nolan Thomas pitched three innings and got credit for the win, while the bullpen allowed just two hits and one run over the final six innings.
After a brutal stretch where the softball team lost eight out of nine, USF has recovered to get back above .500. Their winning streak reached five games with a pair of victories (2-1 and 4-1) over the Chippewas on Wednesday night. Kenshyra Jackson hit a home run in both games, including a monster three-run shot in the nightcap that caught a tailwind and landed on top of the softball batting cage, a good 25 feet beyond the fence in left-center field.
