Unlike Skip Holtz, the Protect Your Unit game is returning for its fourth season!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I know. We all whined about not wanting to do the contest any more if USF is going to be in some second-rate conference. Which of course they are. But you should know us well enough by now to know that we'll always be back. No matter how cruelly our hopes are built up and then destroyed, we're always willing to hope again next year. It's what USF fans do.
Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about Protect Your Unit game! Lots of great new things happening this year.
For starters, we're opening the contest up to all of our readers! Unlike previous years, where we had separate contests for readers and bloggers, we're throwing everybody into one pool. So whether you're a USF fan, a fan of one our new conference rivals, or an old Big East rival who still hangs around because it's funny to watch USF fail, you're welcome to join up!
Post in this thread, or email me, to join the contest. I'll need to know your SBNation screen name and email address. Also, tell us what school you root for, and what blog you write for if any.
The rules will be mostly the same as previous years: you'll get $1,000 in fake money to wager on college football, and whoever has the most fake money at the end of the season will be declared the winner. Probably because they hit some ludicrous parlay. If I sound bitter, it's because I am.
If you need a rules refresher, you can review last year's rules. The largest change is that we are no longer allowing teaser bets, because no one ever used them. We will be introducing some new types of wagers, and other great new features. Stay tuned.
(DISCLAIMER: As always, this game is for entertainment purposes only. No actual wagers are being made by any of the contestants.)
