Stampeding The 2014 USF Football Roster - #16 LB Reshard Cliett

This senior has gone from lightly-recruited safety to the unquestioned leader of USF's linebacker corps.

#16 LB Reshard Cliett
Senior, 6'2" 220 lbs.

Stats in 2013: Reshard was a starter at linebacker throughout the season and racked up 56 tackles, seven TFL, and a terrifyingly awesome sack of Teddy Bridgewater.

Spot On Preseason Depth Chart: Unsurprisingly, the starter at strongside linebacker.

How did he come to USF: From Thomas County Central High in Georgia, where he played safety and didn't generate much hype on the recruiting trail. He didn't have any reported offers apart from USF, but the Bulls nabbed a diamond in the rough here: Reshard used a redshirt season to bulk up and became part of the linebacker rotation.

Recruiting Rankings: Reshard was given a two-star rating by both Rivals and 247.

Projected Playing Time in 2014: As many snaps as possible. The Bulls' defense has a lot of young talent... but "young" is the key word there. Reshard is the team's top returning tackler and will be counted on to lead by example. The development of seniors like Reshard and Elkino Watson will be huge in how the USF defense fares this season.

Fun Fact: NFL Draft Scout currently has Reshard rated as the 16th best outside linebacker in the senior class, and a projected sixth or seventh round pick. This season is going to be big for his NFL prospects. Not bad for a two-star safety, huh?
