Game Thread: Houston at USF

The Houston Cougars are in town, the team with which USF shares the basement of the AAC. This could end the losing streak, so stay tuned.

This rainy evening may bring some life back to the basketball team as they have a serious shot to a win at home against Houston. Bo Zeigler and Ruben Guerrero are steadily improving, now combining for 60 blocks on the year. Guerrero had a particularly great outing against Memphis on Saturday, with 17 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

Chris Perry is still out, but everyone else is relatively healthy. Your probable starters are Collins, Allen Jr., Holston Jr., Zeigler and Guerrero. They shouldn't even need much luck to win tonight: amazingly, they may actually be the better team.

Houston is 9-15 on the year and 1-11 in conference play. They shoot a paltry 39% from the floor (compared to USF's whopping 43%). The Cougars' lone conference win this season was a surprising upset over UConn, thanks to clutch free throw shooting.

Houston's leading scorer Jherrod Stiggers may or may not play tonight. He was recently suspended and sat out their last game (a close loss to UCF). He will probably play, but that's up to Head Coach Kelvin Sampson. Doing the majority of his shooting from beyond the arc, Stiggers averages over 14 points per game and shoots 34%.

As hard as the Bulls have been working on the court lately, they are due for a win. Follow along and see if they can pull it off.
