A Story Ends, Another Begins: Asiantii Woulard to Transfer to USF

The Bulls got a huge transfer today, and it couldn't be more intriguing.

Asiantii Woulard and USF's three-year flirtation has finally come to a close, as the sophomore quarterback announced on Twitter today that he plans to transfer from UCLA to USF. Woulard will have to sit out the 2015 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

The story of Woulard's recruiting process has been repeated to the point of cliche, but suffice it to say that this is a huge pickup for USF. Woulard didn't see any playing time in his two seasons at UCLA, but he was a four-star quarterback prospect out of high school and one of the country's top-rated dual threat QBs. USF needs all the help they can get at quarterback. Treat Asiantii with the same grace and kindness with which you'd treat any Bull.

The way this saga has played out is somewhat poetic-- Woulard decommitted from USF when Willie Taggart was hired; now, in what could be the twilight of Taggart's USF career, he returns. Can Woulard help Taggart turn the program around? Will Taggart even be around once Woulard is eligible? There are million different outcomes to this scenario, some ending in redemption, others in disappointment, but all of them laced with the same amount of intrigue. It's the kind of storyline that writes itself; all we can do at this point is watch.

At any rate, the honeymoon is finally over, and now we anxiously wait a year for the results. Asiantii Woulard could be the face of a new era of USF football by the time his Bulls career is over. Or perhaps not.

Either way, welcome home, Asiantii. We couldn't be more thrilled to have you.
