Only Nate Ferguson Days Until USF Football

You like Nate Godwin? Well then it's time to meet the man he mentored at Freedom High School, the other Nate. This Nate is also a natural born leader.

#37 CB Nate Ferguson
Freshman, 5'9", 170 lbs.

Stats in 2014: Nate Ferguson is a class of 2015 freshman.

Spot on Fall Camp Depth Chart: Ferguson is an incoming freshman as part of the Class of 2015, so he would not be listed on the 2015 fall depth chart. Not to mention when you consider how seriously deep the Bulls secondary has become over the last three seasons with guys like Nate GodwinJohnny WardJamie ByrdTajee FullwoodLamar RobbinsDevin AbrahamHassan ChildsMazzi Wilkins and incoming Wisconsin transfer Austin Hudson, there won't be a push to get Ferguson out on the field early.

How He Came to USF: The Tampa native was coached by Brian Turner at Freedom High School and was a Tampa Tribune 2014 All-Hillsborough Honorable Mention. Ferguson played for the West in the Hillsborough County Senior All-Star Game and earned all-county honors as a junior at Gaither High School.

Recruiting Rankings: Spencer was rated a 81.48 three-star by 247 Sportsthree stars by Scout, was not ranked by ESPN, and 5.40 two-star by Rivals. He also received offers from Appalachian State, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, FAU, FIU, Iowa State, UMass and South Alabama before opting to end his recruitment and commit to USF.

Projected Playing Time: Ferguson will more than likely redshirt for his first season with the Bulls.

Fun Fact: Ferguson lost his mother at the far too young age of 6 to cancer, and with his father battling substance abuse issues it was up to his Grandmother to keep on the straight and narrow. Betty Ferguson did just that, receiving the first hug at Ferguson’s signing day party. #Salute
