#20 DB Devin Abraham
Sophomore, 5'9", 182 lbs.
Stats in 2014: Abraham played in all 12 games as a true freshman, starting six. He put up some impressive stats, totaling 34 tackles, three TFL, and a forced fumble. As the year progressed, he wound up losing playing time to fellow true freshmen Tajee Fullwood and Deatrick Nichols.
Spot on Fall Camp Depth Chart: Second-string free safety behind Fullwood.
How He Came to USF: Devin came from East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, where he posted some truly ridiculous numbers in his senior season: 90 tackles, six interceptions, eight blocked kicks, and five touchdowns. This is like, the "12 Days of Christmas" of football stats.
Recruiting Rankings: Rivals gave Abraham a low three-star rating, while 247 had him as a high two-star. He chose the Bulls over offers from NC State and a handful of mid-major schools.
Projected Playing Time: No matter where Devin lands in the secondary, he'll be playing quite a bit. His ability to play both corner and safety is invaluable, so even if he doesn't beat out Fullwood at free safety, there'll be quite a bit of playing time to be had in USF's new five-defensive back defense. Abraham will be a fixture of the USF secondary not just in 2015, but for seasons to come.
