As I have said in some of the GAMBOLLLLLLcasts, I love watching lower-tier college football games. Well, there’s a terrific bad game this week.
The Idaho Vandals, winners of 3 games, host New Mexico State, winners of 2, at the wonderfully awful Kibbie Dome. The winner of this game has a good chance of reaching six wins, and squeaking into a bottom-rung bowl game.
Neither school may ever get another chance.
Both schools will have to leave the Sun Belt after the 2017 season. Idaho has already announced it is dropping back to FCS level. Conference-less New Mexico State intends to remain in FBS, but as a low-budget independent, a bowl game will be an extremely difficult goal.
You don’t see stakes like that every day. For aficionados of lower-tier college football - and if you’re a degenerate, you should be one, because that’s where the softer lines are - this is quality viewing. (The 5 PM ET kickoff overlaps with USF-UConn, but maybe you could watch the first half and then follow the score.)
Now on to this week’s business.
Navy at East Carolina was postponed to November 19, due to Hurricane Matthew-related flooding affecting Greenville. There were two regular bets on this game, which will be voided, meaning they don’t win or lose. They do count towards meeting minimum bet requirements, as explained last week.
There were also two parlay wagers which included Navy. The Navy game will be removed from the parlay, and the remaining bets treated as a 2-way parlay, or single bet with no vigorish. This was all explained in the packet. You didn’t lose your packet, did you?

gibbsak, $100, Memphis -11, Navy -3. NOTE: The Navy game was cancelled, so this is a single bet without vigorish. If Memphis -11 wins, gibbsak wins $100, not the usual $90.91. This is called for in official rule 7.3.3.1:
If a parlay has to be recalculated as a single bet, that single bet is not subject to vigorish. A win pays 1 to 1.
It was in the packet.
ULhothot: $29, Louisiana State -24, Louisiana-Monroe -7, Alabama -11
