The month of October will be vital as always, with USF football in the thick of conference play. With the time and network of the UConn game being announced today, we officially know what time USF will play and what channel the Bulls will be on for each game this month, giving you a chance to plan accordingly.
Saturday October 8: East Carolina at South Florida (Homecoming) - Noon, ESPNEWS
A second straight noon home game for the Bulls as they welcome East Carolina for Homecoming. It will be broadcast on ESPNEWS, so at least it’s not getting the full WatchESPN app treatment and will be on television. Hopefully we can convince 2 Chainz to hang around after his Friday night concert and maybe host his own tailgate of sorts. Plies sure didn’t.
Saturday October 15: UConn at South Florida - 7:00 p.m., CBS Sports Network
Just announced today, USF will play their third divisional game at night against the Fighting Diacos of UConn on... CBS SPORTS NETWORK??!!
It’s been noted how not everyone gets CBSSN as part of their cable package and the lack of streaming options the network provides (editor’s note: tell me about it), but it’s something we have to deal with a few times a year. On the plus side for USF, UConn isn’t very good, so the scoreboard could be lit up very quickly for the green and gold.
Friday, October 21: South Florida at Temple - 7:00 p.m., ESPN
The Bulls’ first Friday nighter of the season will come in front of a national audience as they visit Lincoln Financial Field to take on Temple. Matt Rhule and his Owls still remember the 44-23 upset last season that launched the Bulls to bowl eligibility, so there’s a bit of a revenge factor going. If USF is able to capture a road victory at Temple with everyone watching, that may be enough to catapult them into the top 25, with a potential 7-1 record at that point.
Friday, October 28: Navy at South Florida - 7:00 p.m., ESPN2
To cap the month, USF will play their third consecutive night game on national television when Navy visits Raymond James Stadium. We still don’t really have a grasp on how good or bad this Navy team is right now, but we’ll have a better idea once this game comes around. A win here could put the East out of reach for everyone else should the Bulls still be streaking at this point.
