Since the college football season expanded to 12 games, mid-November has become a time for glorified exhibition games. This practice is almost exclusively limited to the SEC, though the ACC has been playing more such games of late. Getting back to their Southern Conference roots, I guess.
This weekend we have mighty Alabama hosting Chattanooga; Alabama A&M at Auburn; Western Carolina-South Carolina; Austin Peay-Kentucky; and The Citadel-North Carolina. Another such game was cancelled when Florida’s home game with Presbyterian College was dropped so they could reschedule their game with LSU. (When was the last time an SEC school faced an opponent with “College” in its name, other than a couple bowl games against Boston College? I bet it’s been awhile.)
Needless to say, most of these games have no lines. When lines for such games do exist, they typically appear at the very last minute, on Saturday morning. I try to catch and enter these when I can. Anyone who bets one is a shoo-in for Degenerate Bet of the Week. Hint hint.
