Welp...
TAMPA, APRIL 14, 2016 - The University of South Florida announced on Thursday that junior forward Chris Perry has been dismissed from the men's basketball program for a violation of rules.
"We have standards and expectations at USF and everyone will be held accountable to them," USF head coach Orlando Antigua said. "I appreciate Chris' contributions to our program and wish him the best."
"I'm excited about the team we have returning and the newcomers we have joining us for next season," Antigua said. "We have talented players in our program that are working hard to achieve our goals."
We know what probably happened here, and that sucks. Because Chris is a super nice kid with a smile that can light up a room. He's also the first one to give me crap in press conferences about wearing flip-flops everywhere.
We'll also miss his family sitting behind press row at home games cheering on his every move. They have been wonderful to have around, and clearly love Chris dearly.
Perry averaged 10.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 27 games this season, of which he started 19. He served a six-game suspension during the season for a violation of team rules.
Good luck to Skippy Walnuts wherever he lands, and he should have one year of eligibility remaining. We'll be rooting for him.
