Defensive line may be USF's biggest question mark, but it certainly isn't because of a lack of talent. Today's player is still another skilled but untested pass-rushing option.
2015 Stats: None. Livingstone redshirted last year.
Position on Depth Chart: After an impressive spring, Livingstone is listed as the starter at right defensive end.
How He Came To USF: Kirk was a standout at Fort Lauderdale's Stranahan High School, where he was named to the all-state Class 5A third team. In his last two years, Livingstone racked up 23 sacks and 92 tackles while playing both defensive end positions. The Mighty Dragons (yes that's their nickname) sometimes used him to spy quarterbacks and even dropped him into coverage, where he intercepted a pass and ran it back for a touchdown. His lateral speed is noticeable in his Stranahan highlight reel.
Recruiting Rankings: 247 and ESPN gave Livingstone three stars, while Rivals ranked him as a two-star recruit.
Projected Playing Time: Livingstone is the leader at RDE right now, but the competition will certainly continue all the way up to the opening game and on through the season. There are several talented underclassmen battling for the job, and a couple of JUCOs will join in August. If Livingstone holds on to the starting job and gets regular playing time, he will have certainly earned it.
