#75 LT Kofi Amichia
5th Year Senior, 6'4", 290 lbs.
That's Pronounced... KO-fee Ah-MEE-chee-uh.
2015 Stats: Amichia started all 13 games at left tackle. Kofi's 2015 season was the culmination of a three-year project that paid off. He redshirted in 2012, didn't play at all in 2013, and didn't start until the last two games of 2014 -- and those were at right tackle, not left. With Amichia anchoring the line, USF ran for 3,205 yards, beating the school record by over 700 yards. They conceded only nine sacks in eight conference games and nearly had two players reach 1,000 rushing yards for the first time ever.
Position on Depth Chart: Kofi is the starting left tackle after spring practice.
How He Came To USF: Amichia played for McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, an exurb of Atlanta. He helped the Indians win their region title twice and played in Georgia's all-state all-star game. Kofi also lettered in basketball and track and field. He made his commitment to USF early in the 2012 cycle and stuck with it, so he didn't have too many offers.
Recruiting Rankings: Kofi was a three-star prospect according to 247, Rivals, Scout, and ESPN.
Projected Playing Time: Amichia is one of three seniors on USF's offensive line, and arguably its most important. He has to protect Quinton Flowers' blind side, sometimes for quite awhile as Flowers scrambles around in the backfield to try and make something happen. As long as he's healthy and fresh, Kofi will be on the field.
Follow Him On... Kofi's Twitter handle is @black_likcoffee. He doesn't appear to be on Instagram.
Did You Know? Kofi's brother is a model and actor in the Atlanta area.
