Head coach Jose Fernandez has his team humming along quite nicely early in the season. The Bulls (7-1) have made light work of a torturous non-conference schedule as they have won four games by at least 15 points, highlighted by 37-point victory over Washington State on Black Friday.
Junior guard Kitija Laksa has paced the Bulls with 23.5 PPG, while shooting 45% from three. She has missed just one (1) free throw this year going 23-of-24 from the charity stripe.
Senior forward Maria Jespersen is averaging a double-double (17.4 PPG, 10 REB) through the first eight games this year. She was also named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll this week for notching her fourth double-double of the year and second-straight 25-point performance in the victory at George Washington on Saturday.
The Bulls have this week off for final exams but will travel to Oklahoma to face the Sooners in another grueling non-conference game Saturday at 3 p.m.
