2017 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament: USF Selected For Field of 64, Dissed By Selection Committee

The Bulls are dancing again, albeit with a ridiculously low #11 seed. Their tournament run begins this weekend in Tallahassee.

It's finally official - the USF women's basketball team is making its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last five years. They have been given a #11 seed in the Stockton Regional (whaaaaat?) and will play sixth-seeded Missouri in the first round on Friday, March 17. A win will advance them to face host school Florida State in Tallahassee on Sunday night.

The Bulls were predicted to take a step back this season without All-American guard Courtney Williams, perhaps missing the tournament completely. Instead, USF pulled together a 24-8 record (24-5 in non-UConn games) and was the only college team to reach the American Athletic Conference tournament final. They're heavily reliant on Kitija Laksa to carry the offense, and injuries have been a huge problem up and down the lineup, but they've more than made up for it with determination and sheer guts to return to the field of 64.

Exact tipoff times are still TBD. More to come between now and this weekend.
