Charlie Strong and staff picked up their 15th Class of 2018 verbal commitment on Friday when Port Charlotte defensive tackle Devin Leacock announced that he would bring his talents up I-75 to USF.

The zero technique nose tackle out of Port Charlotte made his decision just 24 hours after Sickles ATH Jontrey Hunter verbally committed. He becomes the second defensive tackle to join the class after Tyrone Barber from nearby Venice.

Strong and staff are quite literally getting themselves a strong recruit. Leacock won the FHSAA Class 2A state heavyweight weightlifting championship this past March, benching 430 pounds and lifting 390 in the clean and jerk. His combined total of 820 pounds tied a state record. And only 113 pounds to go to match Richard Clebert’s USF record.
