USF Football Player Profile: #14 Safety Deangelo Antoine

Career profile of USF safety Deangelo Antoine.

NCAA Football: Stony Brook at South Florida Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

#14 WR Deangelo Antoine - Redshirt Junior, 5’10”, 188 lbs.

2017: DeLo posted 11 receptions for 168 yards and a touchdown through the air while rushing for 60 yards on five carries. He missed five games due to an ankle injury. He officially made the move from wide receiver to safety during the offseason.

2016: Antoine made nine appearances in his first season on the field. He caught eight passes for 24 yards, four of them against Cincinnati. He also ran the ball twice for 12 yards. His playing time dwindled as the season went on, because the first-string offense had to keep scoring points to stay ahead of the defense giving them up.

2015: Deangelo redshirted.

How He Came To USF: Antoine played at Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, where he was a receiver and cornerback. He caught 68 passes for 1,013 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, helping the Pioneers reach the second round of the state playoffs and getting himself named to the Class 7A all-state second team. Deangelo had already committed to USF in July 2014 and no one made a serious push to flip him.

High School Highlights: Deangelo has both an offense and defense reel, but since he’s going to stick to receiver at USF, we’re only going to show the offense reel.

Recruiting Rankings: ESPN and 247 gave Antoine three stars. Scout and Rivals gave him two.
