Career profile of USF running back Darius Tice.

NCAA Football: South Florida at Syracuse Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

#13 RB Darius Tice - 5th Year Senior, 5’10”, 210 lbs.

2016 Stats: Tice played in the first four games of the season, and got most of his work done against Northern Illinois, a game he started due to Marlon Mack’s injury. Against the Huskies, he ran the ball 19 times for 120 yards and a touchdown. For the season, he got 30 carries for 169 yards, and caught two passes. The first went 43 yards for the first touchdown of the season, against Towson. The second was an 11-yard gain against FSU that ended when he cut awkwardly over the middle and broke his ankle. Tice missed the rest of the season, but fortunately he was able to get a medical redshirt (he still had his redshirt year available) and return for the 2017 season.

2015 Stats: Darius appeared in all 13 games and had his most productive year in a USF uniform. He carried the ball 88 times for 476 yards and scored four touchdowns, often getting work in short yardage and seeing extended action in a couple of the Bulls’ lopsided wins. Tice also caught 5 passes for 10 yards.

2014 Stats: Tice played in 10 games, and started the season finale, but did not have a huge impact. He carried the ball 40 times for 116 yards and caught eight passes for 68 yards. His best statistical game was against SMU when he carried eight times for 31 yards.

2013 Stats: As a true freshman, Tice played in eight games and started against Louisville. He was second on the team with 141 rushing yards on 35 carries, and he caught one pass for four yards. His biggest game was against UConn, when he ran the ball 11 times for 69 yards, including a nice 27-yarder.

How He Came To USF: Darius played at Miami Northwestern High School. As a senior he ran for 1210 yards and 20 touchdowns, averaging almost nine yards per carry and helping the Bulls reach the second round of the state playoffs. Tice was named to the Class 6A all-state second team. USF picked up its recruitment of Darius very late in the 2013 cycle. He made an official visit in late January and committed the day before signing day.

Recruiting Rankings: Tice was rated as a three-star prospect on 247 and ESPN. Scout and Rivals each gave him two stars.
