The first USF men’s soccer preseason game was announced Wednesday by the Philadelphia Union. The Bulls will play The Union and former USF Bull Marcus Epps on February 6 at 7:00 at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex.

As reported by Brotherly Game, the Philadelphia Union are coming to Tampa for preseason training as part of the Suncoast Invitational put on by the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The matchup is especially intriguing for USF soccer fans as former midfield standout Marcus Epps comes back to the Bay Area.

Epps finished his USF career with eight goals and nine assists and he was drafted last year in the 2nd round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. He has since made 19 first team appearances and scored 2 goals.

The Bulls have played several MLS teams in the past for spring training, including a memorably wet and windy match against the Chicago Fire in 2016.

“When we have information cleared, we will release what we are allowed to release, per NCAA rules and regulations,” USF said when asked about the match and future preseason games.

The remainder of the USF soccer spring season has yet to be announced. We’ll keep you updated as more becomes available.
