Didn’t see this one coming.
Hutchinson CC defensive back Kelvin Clemmons pulled an early signing day shocker this morning when deciding to sign his national letter of intent with the University of Minnesota. The JUCO corner was originally thought to have narrowed down his choices to USF and Kentucky.
The secondary just got a lot better! Kelvin Clemmons is the No. 9 ranked JUCO cornerback. He broke up 15 passes, notched 34 tackles and recorded one 40-yard pick-six this past season. #NSD19 #ROWpher19 pic.twitter.com/ByCVrHfm52

Clemmons is rated as a three-star (.8417) per 247sports and would’ve given much-needed experience and depth to the back end of a defense that lost seniors Ronnie Hoggins, Jaymon Thomas, and Mazzi Wilkins to graduation as well as Naytron Culpepper to a transfer.
Clemmons also had offers from Toledo, UTEP, FIU, FAU and Maryland among others.
