Cincinnati v South Florida

The beginning of the week-long “Quiet Period” on Wednesday bore fruit for USF on the recruiting front as Groveland South Lake all-purpose back Kelley Joiner Jr. and Orlando Christian Prep wide receiver Xavier Weaver both decided to off their verbal commitments to the Bulls.

Both kids were on campus for an unofficial visit on Wednesday, hence the pictures of them flexing in the new home jerseys.

A lanky receiver from Orlando, Weaver becomes the second WR verbal commit for #GreenBreed19 behind Tampa Plant’s Leonard Parker.

During his junior campaign for the Warriors last season, he caught 43 balls for 929 yards and 11 touchdowns in the passing game and also offered an additional 105 yards and three scores on the ground.

Patrolling the secondary as a free safety in the OCP defense, he also added 17 tackles and an interception to his stat count.

Whether lining up at tailback or slot, Joiner was a primary source of offensive production for a South Lake team that stumbled to a 1-9 mark in 2017.

The future Bull amassed 2,241 yards on 8.9 yards per carry and 25 rushing touchdowns on the year. He also caught 12 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

From his Hudl video, notice his ability to hit an extra gear when hitting the second level of the defense.
