The #BayMade running back bounced back and forth between Braden River and Sarasota throughout his prep career but tore it up no matter where he was.
Breaking out a 1,000 yard rushing season as a sophomore at Sarasota, Battie asserted himself as one of the most prolific runners in the state as a junior, compiling 2,133 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns at Braden River. Returning to SHS for his senior campaign, he complied 1,182 yards on 124 carries and 15 touchdowns for the Sailors this past fall.
Battie was one of the first 2020 prospects to verbally commit this past April and remained solidly loyal to the home area school even through a 4-8 season and a total coaching staff overhaul.
