USF Women’s Basketball Guard Enna Pehadzic Pours in Career-High 35 Points in 63-50 Win Over ECU

The Deadly Dane Strikes Again.

Robert Steeg / The Daily Stampede

Fueled by a career-high 35 points from guard Enna Pehadzic and a 19-0 fourth quarter run, the USF women’s basketball team knocked off ECU 63-50 Wednesday night in Greenville.

The redshirt sophomore from Denmark scored 16 of her 35 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulls secure their first back-to-back wins since mid-December. Pehadzic has played in all 40 minutes of each of the last three games and has scored at least 20 in each contest.

She finished 8-of-26 from the floor, 6-of-15 from behind the arc, and an outstanding 13-of-14 from the free throw line. That’s a Kobe Bryant/James Harden stat line if I’ve ever seen one.

The Bulls (14-12, 5-7 AAC) continue to fight this year despite missing three of their best players and have been in every game since the January 13 contest against UConn. It’s truly a testament to head coach Jose Fernandez and his staff that this team just hasn’t called it quits on the year.

USF welcomes Wichita State to the Yuengling Center on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Notables:

  • Tamara Henshaw scored nine points and had 12 rebounds.
  • Shae Leverett had five points, and eight rebounds (five offensive).
  • USF was without Sydni Harvey for the second consecutive game (Concussion protocol).
