“We put an emphasis on assembling a strong non-conference schedule this season and I believe we have accomplished that objective with this challenging slate of opponents,” head coach Brian Gregory said in the official press release. “We have also upgraded our home non-conference schedule, insuring an exciting November and December in the Yuengling Center. Outstanding teams like ACC opponent Boston College, NCAA qualifier Wofford, 25-win Furman and in-state postseason participant Florida Atlantic create a strong foundation for our home schedule.”
Following an exhibition with Saint Leo on Oct. 29, the 2019 CBI champion will kick the season off on Nov. 5 when hosting Arkansas Pine-Bluff at the Yuengling Center.
From there, the Bulls will go through a non-con slate where they’ll face seven opponents who earned postseason berths last season and two opponents from the ACC. Notably, the Bulls won’t play a true non-conference road game with eight home matchups set to be played at the Foam Dome and the rest taking place during holiday tournaments.
Gregory and company will travel to Grand Cayman participate in the Cayman Islands Classic during Thanksgiving week, to Houston to face Utah State in the Battleground 2K19 on Dec. 18 and to Sunrise, FL, to take on Florida State in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on Dec. 21. They’ll close out the slate on Dec. 29 back at the Yuengling Center when battling Florida Atlantic.
The release of the non-conference schedule means that we’re not too far out from learning USF’s American Athletic Conference slate, officially giving us a full itinerary for the Bulls’ 2019-20 season.
