USF Women’s Soccer traveled to Winston Salem to take on No. 21/RV Wake Forest on Sunday and came away with a 3-2 victory over the Demon Deacons.

Evelyne Viens had another first-class performance with two goals and an assist to bring her yearly total to 18 points, eight goals, and two assists.

USF got on the board first, when junior Katie Kitching slotted home a pass from Viens past the Wake goalkeeper in the 29th minute. In the second half, the Bulls and Demon Deacons would trade goals, with Wake Forest tying the game in the 53rd minute. The match wouldn’t be tied for long as Viens netted a goal just three minutes later off an assist from Sydny Nasello to give the Bulls a 2-1 lead

Wake Forest retied the game once again in the 67th minute when Hulda Arnarsdottir got her second goal of the match. Viens unsurprisingly would play hero once again for USF, giving USF the lead in the 77th minute on an unassisted run after beating a few Wake Forest defenders.

True freshman Katrina Haarmann got her fourth start this season for USF, she collected three saves on five shots on goal.

USF will return to Corbett Stadium after a lengthy road trip, playing their final non-conference regular season game against the middle school in Lubbock Texas Tech on Saturday evening.
