Four days after walking off the field/being told to leave during the Tulsa game after being informed he wouldn’t be playing the rest of the night, junior safety Nick Roberts has entered the transfer portal.

Roberts was benched after Tulsa scored on a 62-yard rushing touchdown in the middle of third quarter. Roberts was lined up over the slot receiver on the touchdown play. It’s unclear why that particular play was the tipping point for Roberts’ benching.
The safety is the second player to transfer out of USF in the last couple weeks after Jabreel Stephens entered the portal. Just eight of the 19 from the 2017 recruiting class are currently playing for the Bulls this season.
Star running back Johnny Ford, and linebacker Dwayne Boyles posted these on Instagram indicating the coaching staff wronged Roberts in this situation.

Roberts logged 27 career starts for the Bulls. He was second on the team with 39 tackles this year. The Jacksonville native will finish his USF career with 174 tackles, 7 TFL, 2 sacks, 5 interceptions.
