The highest ranked prospect for USF’s 2021 class is officially Tampa bound as three-star Satellite tight end Gunnar Greenwald has signed his letter of intent.

Per both 247 and Rivals, Greenwald is expected to arrive in Tampa soon as one of a handful of early enrollees.

Three-star (0.8559) per 247 and Rivals

Other notable offers: Miami, Louisville, Indiana

Originally Committed on Apr. 22

Coming off a strong junior season where he hauled in 43 receptions, the big 6’5”, 220 pound tight end from Brevard County generated interest and offers from several P5 programs last winter. However, he quickly developed a rapport with USF head coach Jeff Scott and tight ends coach Joey King. After visiting campus in April, he officially committed to the Bulls and has stayed firm in his commitment ever since.

Playing eight games as a senior in Satellite’s abbreviated 2020 season, Greenwald brought down 27 receptions for 285 yards and seven touchdowns and earned himself All-Star honors from Space Coast Daily.

As seen on his film, Satellite ran a lot of trips formations that had Greenwald lined up out wide as both a blocking and receiving option. Similar to Holden Willis’ signing last year, the staff probably has visions of utilizing Greenwald in the capacity of a WR/TE hybrid. With the departure of Jacob Mathis to the transfer portal, there’s very good chance that Bulls fans could see him hit the field sooner rather than later, especially with his early enrollment.
