The American Athletic Conference announced late Tuesday afternoon that they would be postponing their men’s and women’s soccer seasons, as well as the volleyball season, from the fall of 2020 to the spring of 2021 to align with the NCAA Championship season.

The press release also states that a decision regarding cross country competition will be forthcoming pending further NCAA clarification.
For USF, that means the debut of new volleyball head coach Jolene Shepardson, life without Evelyne Viens for women’s soccer, and the resurgence of Bob Butehorn’s men’s soccer team will be pushed into a new spring format.
This news comes less than a month after unanimous approval by the conference’s COVID-19 Medical Advisory Group, athletic directors and senior woman admins to continue the fall 2020 season with a slightly adjusted, but all intraconference format.
