A couple news items before we get into this week’s selections:
- There have been some +0.5 lines. This is strange, because college games can’t end in a tie. There is no real difference between getting a half a point and a “pick ‘em” game where you technically get 0 points. But real-life sports books do offer +0.5, so the PYU algorithm can capture them and offer them as well. Consider such a line a pick ‘em.
- The complete list of everyone’s Futures bets is now at the Futures page. USF to win 3 games or more was a popular choice. Georgia at +650 to win the national title is looking pretty viable.
- Over/under wins bets are not settled until the team has finished its regular season. So all you homers who took USF to win 3 games or more won’t get paid in 9 days if they beat Tulsa and Temple. This is because the team has to play its full season, as scheduled, for the bet to be valid. I don’t anticipate this being a problem in 2021, though, beyond normal hurricane-related reasons. See official rule 14.8.5.1 for full explanation.
- This has happened this season, though; defdans’ bet on Oklahoma to win under 11 games was voided because their game against Tulane changed location. So that money was returned to his bankroll.
- This unchanged schedule requirement only applies to over/under wins bets. Conference/national championship futures do not require this, and can be settled once a team has clinched it, or been mathematically eliminated from it.

I guess it’s a parlay of sorts, considering that a lot of people also bet on USF to win 3 or more games, and they probably need USF to beat Tulsa if they’re going to get there. But Tulsa has recovered from its season-opening California-Davis loss to beat Arkansas State and Memphis, and were competitive against Top 20 teams Oklahoma State and Ohio State. So it’s hardly an easy win, especially for a USF team that hasn’t made anything look easy in a long time.
