A properly seeded Bulls team. Incredible

USF (24-8) was selected as an at-large in the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed in the Greensboro Regional. The Bulls will face No. 8 seed Miami (FL) in Columbia, S.C. on Friday. It’s the seventh time in 10 years that the Bulls have made the NCAA Tournament, and it’s the second consecutive year USF has made the Big Dance. Last season, they made it to the round-of-32 after a win vs. Washington State and a loss to North Carolina State.

“I’m really, really excited for them,” head coach Jose Fernandez said “A lot of people would love to be in the tournament...we’re thankful and grateful to be in.”

While the Bulls struggled to put the ball in the basket for most the AAC play, they were still able to win games, and made a run to the AAC Tournament final where they fell to Central Florida.

The Hurricanes (20-12) made a surprising run to the ACC Tournament Final where they fell to No.3 NC State 60-47. They defeated No. 4 Louisville, and No. 20 Notre Dame on their way to the final.

Miami also has an international flavor to them as well. Nine of their 14 players hail from overseas (or Canada). Guard Kelsey Marshall leads the Hurricanes in scoring at 14 PPG. She dropped 24 points on NC State in the ACC tournament.

Game time for Friday is still TBD
