There Is Something Called "The Big East March"

And it's in tune, and it's played on real instruments, and it doesn't include kazoos or fart noises!

Here's the story in a nutshell. Alfred Reed was a professor of music at the University of Miami when the Hurricanes joined the league. Reed might be a familiar name to any high school band nerd; he has a list of compositions for band and orchestra from here to Boise State and back. The Big East's band directors, seeing the need to fill a void no one knew existed, commissioned Reed to come up with a march, and so he did. It was completed in 1996, although it sounds like it's straight out of about 1938.
