The Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will feature a team from the American Athletic Conference starting in 2014, per an announcement on the Big 12's official website, big12sports.com. The Big Ten has previously announced that they were rotating yearly with the Big 12 for the spot in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Last season the Armed Force Bowl paid out $600,000 per contestant.

This would give the AAC a power conference opponent in three bowl games: Armed Force Bowl vs. BigTen/Big 12 (in Ft. Worth, Tx.), Military Bowl vs. ACC (in Annapolis, Md.), and BBVA Compass Bowl vs. SEC (in Birmingham, Al.). In addition, the AAC opponent in the Beef 'O' Brady Bowl in St. Pete will rotate yearly between C-USA and ACC. In order of payouts, the order would be Military ($1 mil.), BBVA Compass($900,000), Armed Forces ($600,000), and Beef 'O' Brady ($537000).

The American hasn't announced its bowl line-up yet, but these four bowls look to be the top four bowls in the new line-up. There are also rumblings of a new bowl at Marlins Park.
