Stampeding the 2014 USF Football Roster - #77 OT Jake Kaufman

New, comments

Today we meet the tallest player on the roster.

Streeter Lecka

#77 OT Jake Kaufman

Senior, 6'9" 349 lbs.

Stats in 2013: Only played in two games (against UConn and Louisville). He had off-season knee surgery requiring him to miss spring practice last year and also had to sit out all of 2011 due to chronic back issues.

Spot on 2013 Depth Chart: Jake was listed as the number two left tackle behind Darrell Williams.

How did he come to USF: Came out of St. Peters Preparatory School in Jersey City, NJ and chose USF over offers from Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, Miami, Georgia, Rutgers, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Stanford and Wisconsin.

Recruiting Rankings: Kaufman was rated a three star recruit by both Rivals (#69 OT) and Scout (#46 OT).

Projected Playing Time: It will be Kaufman's senior season, but I wouldn't expect him to make too much of an impact. Throughout his USF career he has only seen the field in three games and with both starting tackles from last year returning, I doubt his role will increase much.

Fun Fact: Kaufman's hometown of Jersey City, NJ makes him the third furthest from home Bull on the roster, behind Torrel Staffold (Kansas City, Kan.) and Demetrius Hill (Kankakee, Ill.).
